Dear Saverio,

this is rather odd. And I'm afraid the only option to connect to the
virtual machine is ssh.
I think you may perform some more investigation to discover whether the
error can really be ascribed to the uml_switch (for example, you could
try to invoke it by hand using the very same command line used by netkit
- which you can find by using the --print option of vstart).
