Hi Robert,

did you run the check_configuration.sh script provided with Netkit? That
should provide you with some hints about what's going wrong.

Python is no more needed by Netkit. As for the xterm, did you check whether
the application is installed properly? Simply type "xterm" on a console and
see whether the terminal window pops up.
You say that using --noxterm works for you, which is a hint that everything
is running properly but the terminal windows.
