I can run the very same command successfully, provided that a network
interface with an address on the same subnet as 10.0.1.2's exists.<br>
Maybe you forgot to configure that interface?<br>
<br>
P.S. The first command does not seem to be of much use: essentially, it
says that 10.0.1.2 is reachable through the gateway 10.0.1.2. Are you
sure this is what you meant?<br>
