These are great resources !
However, as discussed in this email (http://list.dia.uniroma3.it/pipermail/netkit.users/2006-September/000196.html), those filesystems do not contain a partition table, required by Netkit. Therefore they are not directly usable.
Is it possible to add a partition table to these UML images ?
I had a quick look at "fdisk" command but without success to "vstart" anything (with -m option) :
"Kernel panic... Unable to mount root fs on unknown block"

there are UML images ready to go of various distro, and you can use
them with Netkit. Maybe this can help quickly :)
