Julien,
thanks for your hints but they didn't work.
/dev/shm is mounted with default options, and I disabled SElinux (on
/etc/selinux/config) but ...the virtual machine still doesn't start. The
message is always the same:
============= Starting virtual machine "pc1" =============
Kernel: /opt/netkit/kernel/netkit-kernel
Modules: /opt/netkit/kernel/modules
Memory: 16 MB
Model fs: /opt/netkit/fs/netkit-fs
Filesystem: /opt/pc1.disk (new)
Interfaces: eth0 @ a (/root/.netkit/hubs/vhub_root_a.cnct)
Hostfs at: /root
Running ==> /opt/netkit/bin/uml_switch -hub -unix
/root/.netkit/hubs/vhub_root_a.cnct </dev/null 2>&1
Running ==> /opt/netkit/kernel/netkit-kernel
modules=/opt/netkit/kernel/modules name=pc1 title=pc1 umid=pc1 mem=20M
ubd0=/opt/pc1.disk,/opt/netkit/fs/netkit-fs root=98:1
uml_dir=/root/.netkit/mconsole
eth0=daemon,,,/root/.netkit/hubs/vhub_root_a.cnct hosthome=/root con0=xterm
con1=null SELINUX_INIT=0
[root at nemo opt]# Core dump limits :
soft - 0
hard - NONE
Checking that ptrace can change system call numbers...OK
Checking syscall emulation patch for ptrace...OK
Checking advanced syscall emulation patch for ptrace...check_ptrace :
expected SIGTRAP or (SIGTRAP | 0x80), got status = 256
Gianluca

Other option: Fedora and Redhat are very strict about SeLinux policies.
Maybe try to switch off SeLinux and retry.
Julien.
