Hello Saverio,

I was going with 2.6.20.7 vanilla till now, it it was compiling (with 
ARCH=um) and running fine. When I was
using defconfig it generated a 20 Mb executable, which I think had some 
problems. After, I was using the
netkit-K2.2 config, ugraded by make with the defaults, and that was 
fine, with a size of about 3.5 Mb.
