Dear Emilia,

your procedure is correct, but you are still missing one step. In order to
be able to resolve names to IP addresses inside a virtual machine you first
have to configure a DNS.
In short, you have to place the following lines inside the file
/etc/resolv.conf of pc1:
nameserver ip_address_of_the_primary_name_server
nameserver ip_address_of_the_secondary_name_server_if_any

Regards,
Massimo.

Oggetto: [Netkit.users] Accesing Internet from a virtual machine

Hi everybody:
I would like to know how can I connect the virtual machine with Internet
through the host machine using Netkit?

For that, I did this:
    In the host machine:
        vstart pc1 eth0=tap,10.0.0.1,10.0.0.2

    In the virtual machine pc1:
       ping www.google.com It didn't work

Thanks
