Hello Antony,

I have seen a similar problem on another Fedora Core 4. My advice is to try
to disable support for "Virtual Dynamic Shared Object", a mechanism which
speeds up system calls on newer CPUs.

You can achieve this by altering the appropriate proc entry:
echo 0 > /proc/sys/kernel/vdso

Alternatively, VDSO can be permanently disabled if you append "vdso=0" to
your host kernel boot parameters (see the documentation of your bootloader -
LILO or GRUB - for information about changing kernel boot parameters).

Let me know if this works.

Regards,
Massimo.
