Three PhD positions are available at the Department of Applied Mathematics of
Faculty of Mathematics and Physics at Charles University, Prague.
Starting date: March 1, 2023 (negotiable)
The positions are fully funded and supported by a newly approved five year
project "DiGeo: Fundamental Questions in Discrete Geometry" (2023-2027) funded
by the Science Foundation of the Czech Republic.
The project is focused on problems in various areas of and related to discrete
geometry, including convexity questions for point sets, visibility, graph
drawing, crossing numbers of graphs, semialgebraic hypergraphs, and Delauney
graphs.
The project involves Martin Balko, Vit Jelinek, Jan Kratochvil, Jan Kyncl,
Maria Saumell, and Pavel Valtr.
The candidates are required to complete their MSc degree before March 1, 2023.
Because of the Charles university deadline for applications to the PhD program
